Political Stars Come Out in Support of Sandré Swanson
Assembly Majority Whip Karen Bass and Assembly Natural Resource Committee chair Loni Hancock will be the special guests at a Gala Dinner Celebration honoring Sandré Swanson, candidate for the 16th Assembly District. The dinner will be held at Scott’s Seafood Restaurant in Oakland on Saturday, February 25th, from 6-9p.m. Chairs for the event include Congresswoman Barbara Lee, Congressman Ron Dellums, Lt. Governor Cruz Bustamante, Senate President Pro Tem Don Perata, Alameda County Board of Supervisors President Keith Carson, and Alameda Mayor Beverly Johnson.
“This dinner is a celebration of the broad support that has lined up for Sandré’s leadership for moving California forward,” a campaign spokesperson stated. “With just over 100 days until the election, our event will kick off the final lap to the election. With the help of our supporters, we will conduct a massive grass-roots operation to reach every Democrat in the district. This is a very exciting time,” the spokesperson added.
In addition to the campaign’s strong support from elected officials at all levels of government, powerful community organizations including the Alameda Central Labor Council, the California Nurse’s Association, and the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce are also supporting the campaign.
The 16th Assembly District includes the cities of Piedmont and Alameda, as well as over 80% of Oakland.
